Oh my word, is it really the end of November….it can't be. It really is true the older you get the quicker the time goes.
Well, I have just over three weeks left in work before Christmas Holidays and then starting my Maternity leave. In some ways this has come about really quick and in others not so much. At the moment I think the impending arrival of Baby Bucko hasn't quite sunk in and I am concentrating on Christmas first. I am sure when that is done reality will start to hit.
Don't get me wrong I am very excited about meeting our little one and becoming our own little family with the fantastic Mr Bus, but it is scary as you can never really know how your life is going to change until it does so. I don't think I am not looking forward to any aspect of becoming a mother, there are many more pros than there are cons.
Although I am only 30 weeks pregnant today, I really can't wait to get my body back, its just not mine any more. Although being pregnant is a wondrous thing and the feeling is amazing, at this stage it is also getting tiring and hard work. You really do think if picking something up off the floor is truly worth it or not. I suppose I am feeling it more so at the moment as I have a terrible cold to boot, and its not making things any easier. When you're already getting out of breath quickly, to then have congestion problems due to a cold on top it's not much fun.
The fantastic Mr Bus and I have decided not to find out the sex of our baby either. I think because it's our first and we really don't care what we have, it will be nice to have a surprise. Some people say it helps you get more organised and prepared, what a load of tosh unless you plan on subjecting your child to gender stereotypes, which I certainly will not if I can help it. This is shown clearly with the nursery. We have left the car wall stickers up from the previous owners of the house as we liked them and they are staying, we have also incorporated the Safari animal theme into the room. This is great as they are all bright colours which babies respond best to, rather than blooming pastel shades!!! So we're going with a safari park theme, woop woop. (Really want to inject some dinosaurs into the room as well…Jurassic Safari Park??…)
Anyway, this wasn't going to be a pregnancy blog post…ha. Kind of hard to avoid when you're living through it. I was going to say how much I am missing the Domestic Sluttery blog.
This was a fantastic blog by some fantastic ladies, and although I will admit I was a bit lazy keeping up with their posts, they were always interesting and had something for everyone, I will have to have a trawl of the internet when on leave to see if I can find an equally good blog.
