Oh my word, is it really the end of November….it can't be.  It really is true the older you get the quicker the time goes. Well, I have just over three weeks left in work before Christmas Holidays and then starting my Maternity leave.  In some ways this has come about really quick and in others not so much.  At the moment I think the impending arrival of Baby Bucko hasn't quite sunk in and I am concentrating on Christmas first.  I am sure when that is done reality will start to hit. Don't get me wrong I am very excited about meeting our little one and becoming our own little family with the fantastic Mr Bus, but it is scary as you can never really know how your life is going to change until it does so.  I don't think I am not looking forward to any aspect of becoming a mother, there are many more pros than there are cons. Although I am only 30 weeks pregnant today, I really can't wait to get my body back, its just not mine any more.  Although being pregnant is

Is this the 21st Century?!?!?

I would say that since becoming pregnant I have noticed the demands and pressures placed on people more by ‘society’ but to be honest I noticed them before this and always thought it backward thinking and not progressive.   Having talked to a number of different women about this, friends and acquaintance I am not too sure where this is coming from. It would seem in this day and age that there are still pressures put on people by ‘society’.   Who are society and why are they putting in place these pressures?   You may be wondering what pressures I am on about. Well… You Must Go To University This seems to be the first one people come across.   Yes going to university is all well and good in one respect.   However, there is a lot to be said for not going to university.   You can make money straight away; you can enrol on an apprenticeship and even learn a trade.   These are all still viable ways to start your career and sometimes the better option.   Wouldn’t it be better not

Argh!!!!

Well, I haven't typed a blog post in a little while.  This is due to a lot of things and mainly I have been lazy. I am sure there are some places that I would like to review etc. but at the moment my memory is absolutely awful, I am going to have to start taking notes. In exciting news the Fantastic Mr Bus and I are expecting our first child.  We are both very excited and of course petrified at the same time.  I have to say that Baby Bucko so far has been relatively kind to me and I have only been suffering slightly with nausea but been feeling ever so tired, I could sleep for Britain on a pin.  I also cannot stand the taste of cucumber, this is something, although I do like cucumber in a salad, I feel I can live without.  Other slight cravings at the moment have consisted of tomato ketchup and one day I just had to have sausages.  Apart from that no strong cravings either (watch this space). We have been for the first scan and everything is tickety boo and thankfully just on

Fantastic Mr Bus' Birthday

For the fantastic Mr Bus’ birthday we celebrated in style all weekend.  The proceedings started with coming home a day early so I was there to wake up with him on his birthday.  I brought him breakfast in bed while he opened his cards and presents. Unfortunately as where he works they don’t have flexible holidays (archaic if you ask me) he had to go off to work.  In the mean time I did some boring chores and then made his wonderful Despicable Me Birthday cake. Upon his return we had a spot of lunch and chill out before getting ready for our meal out in the evening.  We decided on booking a table at the Swan Hotel in Stafford as it had recently been renovated and the menu looked delightful.  The fantastic Mr Bus’ parents joined us for our meal, which was lovely.  We had a very warm welcome and they showed us to our table.  This was a great booth out of the way and we were pleased far from the hen party that was booked in that evening. We decided to have a

Despicable Me Cake

It only seems like the other week I was making Mr Bus the Campervan cake for his birthday.  This year I decided on a minion cake from Despicable Me.  Then a flash if inspiration hit me, this is what happened: Cake pops are incredibly hard to decorate.  I had done ones in the past with chocolate which were a nightmare, this time I used the proper candy melts, this was still tricky but I think might be improved with practice.  It also made me realise I need a proper cake pop stand!! To make Gru I used a pyrex bowl to bake the cake for his head and iced it, then baked a small round cake for his shoulders and iced that separately, fixing them in place with buttercream.  Not much is needed in the way of cake filling due to the icing as you don't want it too sweet.

April?

I honestly can't believe that today is the last day of April!!!  Where on earth did that go?  My brain really can't comprehend that it is May tomorrow!!  I am going to try and blame this on the really late Easter that we had this year.  I have a feeling May is going to go just as quick especially with the bank holidays. Anyway... At the beginning of the year I started doing a 365 day photo challenge and I am pleased to say I have kept with it so far.  Generally this has been easy to accomplish, I did find it difficult when I was ill with the flu, because seriously who wants to be doing anything other than curling up under the duvet feeling sorry for yourself. but I did battle through. Here are some highlights of the past month: The Photo booth from JISC Digifest The developing drinks cabinet Cocktails with my Bestie Peacocks from Margam down my mum's street First Holiday/Mini Break of the year in New Quay Wales Easter with my Ni
