House Move

Well the fantastic Mr Bus and I have moved into our first home together and I have to say it’s gorgeous.  The move went smoothly, a little too smoothly and when we woke up after our first night we were greeted to a moving in present from the house, being a leak coming through the kitchen ceiling!!!  After a few phone calls I managed to persuade Mr Bus to phone his friend Roy:

Mr Bus: Hey mate do you know any plumbers

Roy: You’re speaking to one

And within the hour Roy to the rescue, however, in order to find said leak we had to go in from the bottom and part of the kitchen ceiling was ripped off, didn’t take much as it was plasterboard and sodden.  Looking at it, it couldn’t have been leaking very long.  Roy managed to find the leak, which was a tiny hole in a pipe, not on a join or anything so just a dodgy batch of pipework, just one of those things.  After a week with a temporary fix Rescue Roy was back and fixed it properly for us, so all that’s left is to redo the kitchen ceiling and I will have my gorgeous kitchen back.

Also when we moved in the first thing I had to do was strip off the dreadful word “art” that donned a couple of the walls, in the Bedroom was sickening “To Make Your Dreams Come True Just Wake Up” bleurgh and in the bathroom “Happiness is a Hot Shower” purrrlease!!!  Luckily they hadn’t painted them on but used the tacky stickers and they came off no problem.  Apart from that, beautifully decorated and we have already put our own mark on the Lounge with a print above the fire place that the fantastic Mr Bus gave me for my Birthday.

The next exciting thing on the agenda was the arrival of our sofas which are super comfy and I love to cwtch up on them with the fantastic mr Bus.  I am sure there will be more adventures to come with our little DIY projects that we have in mind for our bubble.

28 Years Later

My word I can’t believe that 28 years ago this month I met my best friend.  Who would have thought it?  We have been together through thick and thin, there have been highs and lows but like any relationship you have to work at it. We can remember that our first argument was about the size of a killer whale, I think I said it was as big as a house.  Goodness knows.  Anyway, we have had some other disagreements since then but when it comes down to it we are still there for each other.  I think we also know when we need some space and so if we don’t hear off one another for a couple of days it’s not a big thing. Ms James is my best friend for many reasons.  I know she is always there, she is very good at advice although can do with listening to her own wise words now and again, but can’t we all.  Also she doesn’t judge.  I know I can tell her anything on this planet and she won’t judge me and be nothing but a friend. I love her quirk...

Dreams

Aren ’t dreams weird? I had the most bizarre one yesterday whilst dozing. I dreamt that I was a Chinese MAN of all things, and I was running my own Chinese restaurant. Then a door swung open showing what looked like the yard behind the Chinese with two big skip bins. By the side of the bins were two men, I somehow had a gun in my hand and shot the two guys and then door swung shut and I carried on running the restaurant as if nothing had happened. I have no idea what this means at all. The shooting I can imagine is from the fact that his nibs was playing a computer game at the time where he was a hit man, but the whole Chinese thing, I have no idea. I am definitely one for crazy dreams though. When I was younger, about 5 or 6 I had a dream I was in school and everyone apart from me had one normal leg and one pig’s leg. I was trying to get out of the school playground but there were people everywhere with a pig’s leg. Even my best friend at the time appeared and asked why I did...

A Year On

I tend to not like to blog too much about serious things, as it can all get a bit bogged down. However, I would like to reflect on the past year, and truly I must say that everything happens for a reason. My 30th year started in disaster with what was meant to be a lovely trip to Rome with my boyfriend at the time, which was on my list of places to visit since goodness knows when. Instead we got to Rome and I got dumped and found a person who I considered a friend was truly the opposite. Still we managed to make the best out of a bad situation and I still got to see the things I really wanted to see but obviously my heart wasn’t in it and I was reluctant to throw my euro into the Trevi fountain not particularly wanting to return at that point. The next few months passed in some what of a blur, but luckily I have amazing friends who were there for me and pulled me through. I kept myself busy and developed quite the social life for myself and so I was never left to mull in my ...
